The stick dance in the Higashi-Kaitou and Moushigi areas of Ogawa Town was handed down from Satsuma around the end of the Edo period, and has been performed as a prayer for rain. With the marching call of "ei ei sano sassa nokoi," the dance using the six shaku (182cm) stick is accompanied by drums and shamisen.
