Legend has it that water from Ono Spring was used during the birth of Ono-no Komachi. For the "Ono-no Komachi Heian Emaki Parade", particpants dressed in elegant Heian period costumes pass through the park. The parade consists of about 80 court nobles, Komachi girls, and children taking leading roles. Komachi girls read out a poem by Ono-no Komachi in the center of the park where cosmos flowers are in full bloom.
