Matsuzaki no Ororonbe
Category Name:Fuyru (Fuyru dance)
The Matsuzaki area is said to have been created in October 1840, when people from the Okubo, Sobata, and Gocho areas moved there. The dance has been passed down from generation to generation by people who had settled in the area from all over when the Kamematsu area was newly developed in 1840. The dreams and hopes of the settlers are reflected in this dance. At that time, the area was a wasteland, not like the reclaimed land of today. The migrants worked hard at reclamation and land preparation to create beautiful rice fields, and at that time, the dance was performed to express their dreams and hopes for the future. Ororonbe are tunes originating from traditional lullabies.
