This lion dance used to be dedicated to and performed at Shichisho-gu (Miyaji Shrine), but was discontinued for about 60 years. In 2016 the Miyaji Lion Dance Preservation Society revived it in a new style with reference to other lion dances both in and outside the prefecture, and rededicated it to Shichiisho-gu.
