The turtle snake dance is offered up at the autumn festival of Ogawa Aso Shrine. It is called the turtlesnake dance because it represents the goddess Myoken, who is depicted entwined with a snake and upon a turtle. The turtle snake dance is performed by a dozen or so young people and is a sight to behold.
