This is a song and dance to celebrate the opening of new rice fields through land reclamation. Shinchi" in Shinchi-bushi means new rice field, and "Ayatake" in Ayatake dance means decorated bamboo. The lyrics of Shinchi-busi are mainly about the love between O-haru, a construction worker, and the head tradesman, and are sung to the accompaniment of drums, shamisen, and gongs.
