This dance is said to commemorate a battle between the Genji and Heike clans. There are a total of 18 performers in the dance: Kashira (the head), two Waki (sides), two Seki, 5 bell ringers, and 3 flag bearers for the Genji side. Five clowns for the Heike side. It is a unique dance with a bold local character.
