Kubota Aso Shrine was originally built in 1201 in Kami-Jinnai Tamaoka and moved to its present location in Kami-machi in 1469. Every ten years the parishioners of 3 Jinnai areas (Kami, Naka, Shimo) and 4 areas of Kami-machi carry the deity from the current shrine to the site of the original shrine in Kami-Jinnai.
