This is a traditional wedding event in this area, and is held at wedding receptions to pray for the prosperity of the family and the happiness of the couple. In this ceremony, a three-tiered pine tree, made of a three-year-old pine tree decorated with bamboo and plum branches, is placed on a wooden stand called a shimadai and brought in front of the bride and groom along with two sea breams while chanting from the Noh “Takasago.” In former Soyo-machi this is the only area where this ceremony is held It is unique to the mountainous areas of the Aso region.
