Founded in 1964 as a community center taiko drum class, the preservation society has performed at cultural festivals, sports festivals, and coming-of-age ceremonies sponsored by the town. Currently, the group is also engaged in research activities to preserve and pass on the rain-making drum. There are 12 members in the preservation society.
