This is an event to pray for a good harvest and involves planting rice to the accompaniment of song. It once disappeared after WWII, but was revived in 1973. Composition and costumes: Otaoshi - lords (2 people): kamishimo (samurai costumes) and jingasa (traditional soldier's hats). Saotome rice planting girls (about 20 people): patterned Kimonos, red waistwraps, red tasuki sashes, and sugegasa. Utahime (about 7 female singers)...Yukata, red tasuki sash.
