One summer, when a severe drought hit the farmers during the rice-planting season, a shinto priest prayed for rain for a week, for the farmers looking to the heavens and hoping for even one drop of rain. This kyogen is about Myogen, a knowedgeable priest from Harima, who figured out the reason for the dought through divination. He cured the thunder god's big knees by using a special needle to heal them, causing the thunder god to break the thunder and the rain to fall in a spectacular manner. The last performance was at the closing ceremony of Ono Junior High School on February 22, 2014. The performance has been saved on CD.
