Miko Kagura (Shrine maiden kagura) is a form of kagura that has only recently been performed at the shrine. In 1988, the "Miyahara Sanjingu Shrine Maiden Preservation Society" was formed in the Shimo-miya district, and the "Taru-mikoshi" (Carrying of a large sake barrel), which had been performed by children, was replaced by "Kodomo Kagura" for boys and "Miko Kagura" for girls.
