Category Name:Furyu (Stick/Staff Dance)

This bo-odori (stick dance) has been handed down in the Shibaguchi district of Kagami-machi. It came to be performed by people who settled in Nanahyaku-cho Shinchi created in 1821 (Bunsei 4), as harvest festivals and entertainment. It is said that the current form traces back about 120 years as people who came for apprenticeships from Ashikita conveyed the bo-odori that was handed down in their hometown of Kagoshima.
