"It is said that Shizuki Aso Shrine, along with its Ujiko (parishioners), came from Aso Shrine in Ichinomiya, and the kagura was introduced at that time. Originally, children's kagura was performed, but it was discontinued after the end of the war, and was revived in 1986 (Showa 61). The performance consists of Sakaki (one dancer), Hime (two dancers), and Niken (two dancers). [Pieces no longer performed: kenyū (2-person dance), shiken (4-person dance), utamai (1-person dance)]
