Tanoura Celebration Song

Active

Category Name:Rites and Festivals (folk belief)

This is said to have a history of about 800 years along with the history of the Hinokuma clan, a powerful family in Tanoura, but the lyrics suggest that it dates from the early modern period or later. It was a custom often practiced at banquets in the Tanoura area. Of the five verses, three are sung at the beginning and the remaining two at the end of the banquet.
