This is a lion dance that young men of the parishioner community dedicate at the annual autumn festival of Saga Shrine on September 9. It is said that the lion dance of Ubuyama was handed down to the parishioners of Saga Shrine in 1872 from members of Nakabaru Hachiman Shrine in Kuju Town, Oita Prefecture (now Nakabaru, Shirani, Kuju Town, Takeda City).
