The Kouya-machi Odori gets its name from being received by a master of drum dance from Kouya-machi, Hitoyoshi City. It is also called the "Genpei Odori" because it is said to commemorate the Genpei War, and the "Amagoi Odori (Dance to Pray for Rain)". It has been handed down by and to the eldest sons in the Nakahara area. It is a unique dance with a bold local flavor.《composition》 5 mortar drummers, 1 flag bearer, 2 singers on the Genji side; 5 clowns (also called kaki on mortar drums) and 5 singers on the Heike side.
